How long does it take to Improve my ear?

It depends. It depends on where you are starting from and how much you practice. If you are not able to sing in tune currently, I’d say give yourself a year. If you can sing in tune but aren’t consistent, give yourself 6 months of practicing to evaluate yourself.

What Kind of Singers do these exercises work with?

They are great for beginners and Intermediate. They are designed to get harder the more you progress. So if you are not sure, I’d start with the beginning exercises or the 5 Minute Routine and go from there.

How do I know if I’m Improving?

You can go on a few things. If you do an exercise and it is hard the first time and you have it by the 10th, that is improvement. If you do an exercise in Level 1 and it takes you 10x to get it. Then you do the next exercise and it takes you 5x, you are improving. If someone you sing with tells you, “wow you are sounding great,” and they don’t normally say that, you are improving. If you move on from record yourself doing an exercise on day 1 and two months later you re-record the exercise. Listen to both. If you hear a difference, you are improving.

Where do I start with these Exercises?

Start with the basics. If you are in doubt of things like major or minor, half step or whole step, how many half steps are in a third, start with level 1. If nothing else, you get a nice refresher and probably fill in some gap in your learning. If Level 1ends up being easy, just go through it quickly, do each exercise 1-2x to make sure you have & always do exercises a Cappella.
